Challenge
During the renovation of the central railway station, the city of Bochum built a red pavement between the station and the nearby shopping area, called “the red carpet”. The invitational character of this construction, was to be supported by an innovative traffic light installation.
Details
- Modification of the existing traffic lights especially for visually handicapped people
- Introduction of special count-down traffic-lights

- Less dangerous crossing of the main street ( 4 lanes), especially for the handicapped
