Challenge

Merseburg is an important traffic hub in the south of Saxony-Anhalt where the roads B91 and B181 meet with upt to 40,000 vehicles a day on the B91. Heavy rainfall often leads to impassable floods on the B181. The goal was to implement a strategic traffic control system including driver information about closures and bypasses.
